The client, an asphalt roadway contractor, selected dcb Construction Company, Inc. because of our reputation for designing and building timeless, site cast facilities. This single story office structure is adjacent to the company’s asphalt batch plant facility. The first feature that sets this site cast project apart is the imposed angle unto which the building footprint is situated. This nearly square shaped facility, on angle, is highlighted with an outstanding entrance which has been created by the use of curved freestanding site cast panels.
Project Summary
The Asphalt Specialties headquarters houses offices and repair / maintenance facility for a civil and heavy-highway contracting company. The building consists of Site-Cast Tilt-up Panels and integrated a design that is an attractive addition to a predominately industrial neighborhood. A structural mezzanine level is included for the storage of parts, wash bays, lube pit, and a recessed rail system on a structural slab for handling track equipment and framework. The electrical service to the facility is 480V and radiant heat is used in the shop areas. The full site development includes landscaping and equipment storage area for heavy equipment. The project was awarded an Achievement Award from the Tilt-Up Concrete Association which represents some of the best tilt-up projects the industry has to offer.
